A passion for a lifestyle connected to being on, near or around the water.

It’s a long way to the Isle of Wight from Maine, but in 1947 when Daniel J. Wellehan, Sr., William Beaudoin and Joseph Cordeau designed the first Dockside, they started the brand they created Sebago on a journey. That journey would find the company 65 years later in the heart of the Isle of Wight.

Now the brand is a leading light in the field of development and design of boat shoes both for professionals and lifestyle use.

And they haven’t forgotten their roots and in fact feel so passionate about developing and encouraging the sport that they now boast sponsorship at some of the UK’s top sailing events including last weekend’s RS Elite Nationals.

As sponsor of the event, Sebago provided prizes for the top 6 teams including all the crew. Coming in 2nd at the event was Tiffany Brien, current ‘Miss Northern Ireland’, just back from China at the Miss World Competition. She had the following to say about the event hosted by the Royal Yacht Squadron:

“Sebago is a perfect sponsor for an event like the RS Elite British Nationals. Being such a stylish brand on the yachting scene it combines perfectly with the new sport boat, the RS Elite.

I was over the moon with my prize as it had been my birthday the week before and I wanted a pair of Sebago’s for my birthday so had been pestering my Dad all week to get me some but we never got off the water early enough! So to win a pair was fantastic! I wore my old pair to death and even though I’m Miss Northern Ireland I insist on sticking to my roots and wearing my deck shoes!”

Charlie Egerton-Warburton, Organiser of the RS Elite British Nationals, added:

“Any discerning yachtie knows the Sebago Dockside as a byword for nautical footwear elegance, and for good reason; they look good on a boat, as casual wear when you come ashore and especially at that evening function. Thanks to the generosity of Sebago, there are now even more RS Elite ambassadors for the brand.”
