Night message from François Gabart (MACIF)

Ola everybody!

Not much wind on MACIF right now, I think the hardest is behind but it's not completely over yet. I need to be patient. I should be able to go faster in a few hours. I'm not sure what the others are going through right now but I'm glad to be where I am now. I'm focused on the boat's settings. As soon as the wind stops changing all the time, I'll go get some rest. That's what a sailor's daily life is like...

I went to check the topmast shrouds weren't damaged and they're not, everything is ok. For all mothers reading this (mine, my son's and everyone who could get worried), I didn't take any risk!

Good night,

Night message from Javier "Bubi" Sansó (ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered)

Hello to everyone from ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered.

Today has been an exhausting and not particularly efficient day. I haven’t stopped for a minute, not even to eat – I have just had to make deal with small snacks between maneuvers.

So you could say that it has been stressful, but I think I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel…..wind ahead….or at least that what it looks like!

The keel has had a bit of a strenuous day today, from windward to leeward, the amps have been doing an amazing job.

I have put the Code Zero and Gennaker up and to be able to send this mail I have had to go up on deck four or five times – the wind comes and goes all around. But I’m hoping it will settle down and we can head west to try catch the front that is coming, and get down to the south as fast as possible.

I have just heard about Kito de Pavant – he must be so disappointed. What he has been through is one of my recurring nightmares when I am sailing. But at least he is ok, and he was not hurt.

I also want to send a hug to Marc who must also be completely gutted after so many months of preparing and having to abandon racing so early on.

Sending you all best wishes from ACCIONA 100% EcoPowered
