Afterguard Sailing Academy in San Francisco announces that tickets are now on sale for their Afterguard Sailing Foundation Hidden Treasures Fundraising Gala. The sailing school is also accepting donations for the event's silent auction.

Afterguard Sailing Academy is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale for their Afterguard Sailing Foundation Hidden Treasures Gala on February 15, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the the California Ballroom. The Black Tie affair includes a delicious crab feed, exciting silent and live auctions ending with dancing to live entertainment by Afterguard's own Perfectly Frank (Steve Swan).

The Afterguard Sailing Foundation fundraising gala directly benefits the Afterguard Sailing Foundation youth, the Oakland school district and community programs. Most significantly, the proceeds will enable the foundation to continue and to expand its 'Destination Graduation' program. Their multi-part program uses sailing instruction to make real sailing lessons from math and science curriculum taught at the Oakland Emiliano Zapata Street Academy High School. The program has helped increase graduation rates and successfully encouraged students to stay in school, keep their grades up and seek higher education.

“The gala auction offers hot items and fun local and exotic experiences and is requesting and accepting more donations to support our cause." said Mary Swift Swan owner of Afterguard Sailing Academy. "We have a vision to offer this opportunity to more schools as a set of proven programs that motivate students to stay in school making a long term difference in the lives of our students. Sailing lends itself to build self-confidence, develop leadership and cooperative teamwork skills, increase awareness of the environment and improve conscious decision making."

The California Ballroom is located at 1736 Franklin Street in Oakland. For sponsorships or donations, please contact Aurice Guyton of AEG Events Management at (510) 731-4425. Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased at http://afterguardgala.eventbrite.com.
