Fabio Buzzi, winner of the last Round Britain Race, which took place in 1984, has no plans to give-up his trophy despite the desperate attempts of one of the 2008 event favourites, Hannes Bohinc, to wrestle it from his grasp.  “I wish Hannes well in the race, he is a good guy and a top racer and his Wettpunkt boat is, after all, an FB Design,” said Buzzi.  “but if we are neck-and-neck on the final day, don’t expect me to ease-up on the throttles!"

The Round Britain Race is an 8-day endurance adventure across Britain’s notoriously difficult waters. 48 boats from across Europe will leave Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth, on the 21st June as they begin their quest for a place within powerboating’s illustrious hall of fame.
