Marian died in her sleep in the early hours of November 18th.
Marian was an exceptional journalist working in the marine environment and the author of two books.
She was the first writer to transcribe the original CEVNE Rules for inland waterway navigation in Europe.
She spearheaded the Sunday Times Save Water Campaign. Her in-depth knowledge of boating law assisted in the release of two British nationals held in the Middle East after jetski accidents.
During the amendments to the Recreational Craft Directive Marian’s research greatly assisted small engine manufacturers.
During her paper journalist days she contributed to many British leisure magazines and Boating Industry USA. She also contributed to Boating Industry USA online news service.
She was a founder member of Boats Yachts Marinas and BYM News and one of the most diligent researchers writing on the Internet today.
Amongst her other activities she held a Private Pilots licence with over 400 hours flying time.
With the passing of Marian the Internet and leisure marine community has lost a forceful writer who was not afraid to speak her mind.
Writing was her passion and she will be sadly missed.
