RED SEA (April 24, 2015) USS New York (LPD 21), USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) and the USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43)
The amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Charles Drew (T-AKE 10) and the amphibious dock landing ship USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43) prepare to conduct a vertical replenishment-at-sea. New York is a part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
