GULF OF OMAN (Apr. 13, 2015) Helicopters fly from the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) during a vertical replenishment with the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).

Carl Vinson will be the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility for its homeport of San Diego after supporting Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations, strike operations in Iraq and Syria as directed, and theater security cooperation efforts in the region.
