PEARL HARBOR (May 18, 2015) The guided-missile destroyer USS Chafee (DDG 90) departs Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam for an independent deployment.

The ship will conduct theater security cooperation and maritime presence operations with partner nations as well as participate in the exercise Talisman Saber within U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations and is expected to play an integral part in counter-illicit trafficking mission Operation Martillo in U.S. 4th Fleet area of operations.
