Leg 3 Gets Underway in Abu Dhabi - Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12, from Abu Dhabi, UAE to Sanya, China.

The fleet in the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12 departed Abu Dhabi Saturday for the start of Leg 3 with the final destination being Sanya, China in early February. Leg 3 will take the boats into Sharjah on the Emirati coastline for stage 1 where the boats will be loaded onto a commercial ship. The teams will then be transferred by ship to a secret safe haven port before continuing on their way to Sanya.
