"Virgin Speedboat" readying for trans Atlantic record breaking attempt
|
The 100 foot "Speedboat" now named "Virgin Speedboat" sails outside Newport, Rhode Island September 2, 2008. The maxi class monohull is piloted by America's Cup skipper Mike Sanderson and his Team Origin. Sir Richard Branson and his son Sam and daughter Holly will accompany the team in a TBA record attempt (NY to UK) to break the crossing record held by a monohull sailboat- "Mari Cha IV set in 2003.
