Coast Guard survey's aground fishing vessel Midnite Sun
KODIAK, Alaska - A Kodiak-based Coast Guard crew conducted an overflight assessment for any environmental impact from the grounded 68-foot fishing vessel Midnite Sun off Afognak Island northwest of Kodiak Feb. 11, 2011. The crew of the Midnite Sun was safely rescued from the vessel at 1:38 a.m. by a Kodiak-based MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and is the second fishing vessel crew rescued this week totaling 10 fishermen rescued by Coast Guard helicopter crews.
