ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 25, 2015) An F-35B Lightning II takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1).

Wasp, with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 121 and VMFAT-501 embarked, is underway conducting the first phase of operational testing which will evaluate the full spectrum of F-35B measures of suitability and effectiveness in an at-sea environment.
