A deceased right whale floats near the boat ramp of the Mayport boat ramp Jan. 25, 2007.

Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station Mayport carefully towed the whale to the boat ramp so it could be brought to the University of Florida for a necropsy to determine the cause of death. A commercial fisherman spotted the right whale off of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and notified the Coast Guard.
